Bryan E. Wilson

Bryan is a registered patent attorney and founder of Bryan Wilson IP Law, PLLC where he counsels clients on all aspects of intellectual property.

Bryan’s business, legal, and engineering experience enables him to effectively communicate with executives, in-house counsel and inventors. In addition to representing clients in district court litigation, he has served as lead attorney in post-grant trials before the Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  

Bryan has successfully developed and grown his client’s global patent portfolios across a broad range of complex technologies in the telecommunications, electronics, chemicals & pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and transportation industries. His technical areas of expertise include optoelectronics, nanotechnology, quantum computing & spintronics, sensors, photovoltaics, electronic materials, semiconductor fabrication & packaging, composites/alloys, laboratory microfluidics diagnostics platforms, small-molecule & polymer synthesis, and next generation energy storage.

Bryan’s intellectual property law career started nearly 20 years ago at the USPTO where he worked as patent examiner in the nanotechnology and semiconductor art unit.  Prior to starting his own law firm, Bryan gained a wealth of experience through his positions at the Miami, FL-based firm of Carey Rodriguez as well with Foley & Lardner in Washington, DC and MH2 Technology Law Group in Tysons Corner, VA.  Bryan also worked in-house at a medical device company and served as CEO of a clinical laboratory during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his legal career, he worked as an engineer for an ultra-high vacuum systems and components manufacturer supporting the semiconductor industry.  Before pursuing a law degree, Bryan worked as a graduate research assistant at the University of Florida’s Materials Science and Engineering Department developing and characterizing organic semiconductors for use in flexible displays, solid-state lighting and photovoltaic applications.
